Terms of Service
Last updated 1 October 2026
The short version: you rent a game server by the month, quarter or year, you can cancel any time, and as a consumer you can withdraw within 14 days. Play fair, keep your own copies of important files, and get in touch if anything goes wrong.
1. About these terms
These terms apply when you create an account at maxhosting.cloud or rent a game server from us. By creating an account or placing an order you accept them. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data.
The service is provided by MaxHosting ("MaxHosting", "we"). Our contact details are in section 14.
2. The service
We rent out game servers for the games and plans shown on our pricing page. Each plan comes with a set amount of memory, processor capacity and storage. You manage your server through your dashboard, where you can start and stop it, use the console, manage files, schedule restarts and, depending on your plan, make backups.
We work hard to keep servers online and fast, but we can't promise uninterrupted service. Maintenance, faults with hardware, networks or game publishers, attacks and similar events can cause downtime. We announce planned maintenance in advance when we can.
Games are made by their publishers, not by us. Game updates, features and the publishers' own terms are outside our control. Some games, such as Hytale, only let players connect when the server runs the same version as the game, so the server needs a restart to install an update.
3. Your account
- You must be at least 18 years old, or have permission from a parent or guardian.
- The information you give us must be correct, and you keep it up to date.
- Keep your login details to yourself. You're responsible for what happens in your account, and you tell us right away if you think someone else has used it.
4. Orders, prices and payment
Prices are in Swedish kronor (SEK). The checkout shows the full price including VAT before you pay. Your order is confirmed when the payment has gone through, and we then start setting up your server right away.
Payments are handled by our payment partner Stripe. For purchases on our site Stripe can act as the seller of record (merchant of record) and handle payment, VAT, receipts and refunds; the checkout shows this. Card details go directly to Stripe and are never stored by us.
We may change our prices. A new price applies to an existing subscription from the next billing period, and only after we've told you by email at least 30 days in advance. If you don't accept the change you can cancel before it takes effect.
5. Subscription, renewal and cancellation
Servers are rented as a subscription that renews automatically for the period you chose (one month, three months or a year) until you cancel. We charge your card at the start of each period.
You can cancel any time under Billing. Your server keeps running until the end of the period you've paid for. When the period ends, the server, its files and its backups are permanently deleted, so download anything you want to keep before then. We email you a reminder a few days before.
If a payment fails we email you and try again. If it still can't be taken, the subscription ends and the server is deleted in the same way.
6. Your right of withdrawal
If you're a consumer, you have the right to withdraw from your purchase within 14 days of the order, without giving a reason.
When you order, you ask us to start your server right away, before the 14 days have passed. If you then withdraw, you pay for the time the server has been available to you and we refund the rest. Refunds go back to the card you paid with, within 14 days of receiving your withdrawal.
To withdraw, open a support ticket within the 14 days and tell us which order it concerns. You can use this form, but you don't have to:
Your right of withdrawal doesn't limit your other rights under consumer law, for example if the service is faulty.
7. MaxPoints
- You earn MaxPoints when you pay for a server, and you can use them for free subscription periods as described in your account.
- Points have no cash value, can't be exchanged for money and can't be transferred to someone else.
- If a payment is refunded or disputed, we may remove the points it earned, and the same goes for points earned or used through fraud or abuse.
- We may change or end the points programme. We tell you at least 30 days in advance, and you can use your points during that time.
8. Fair and lawful use
You may only use your server for running and hosting games. You may not use it to:
- break the law, or store or spread illegal content;
- infringe other people's rights, for example by hosting copyrighted material without permission;
- attack or disrupt other systems, for example with denial-of-service attacks, port scanning or hacking;
- spread malware, send spam or run open proxies or VPN services;
- mine cryptocurrency or run other workloads that aren't a game server;
- put an unreasonable load on our hardware or network in a way that affects other customers.
You also follow the rules of the games you host, such as the Minecraft EULA and the Hytale Server Operator Policies. You're responsible for your server, the mods and plugins you install, and what your players do on it.
9. Your files and backups
The worlds, files and settings on your server are yours. We only access them to run the service, to help you when you ask us to, or when the law requires it.
Backups are a tool we give you, not a guarantee. Keep your own copies of anything important; you can download your files and backups from your dashboard at any time while the server exists.
10. Suspension and termination
If you break these terms we may suspend your server. When the breach is serious, for example an attack on other systems or illegal content, we may do it right away and without notice, and end the agreement. Otherwise we first ask you to fix the problem.
We may also end a subscription for other reasons with at least 30 days' notice, and then refund any period you've paid for but won't get.
11. Liability
If something goes wrong because of us, we fix it or compensate you for the time the service didn't work. We aren't liable for indirect losses, such as lost income, lost data or lost players, unless we caused them through gross negligence or on purpose.
Our total liability is limited to what you've paid us in the three months before the event. None of this limits rights you have as a consumer under mandatory law.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change matters to you, we email you at least 30 days before it takes effect. If you don't accept the new terms you can cancel your subscription before then.
13. Law and disputes
Swedish law applies. If we disagree about something, contact us first and we'll do our best to sort it out.
As a consumer you can also take a dispute to the National Board for Consumer Disputes (Allmänna reklamationsnämnden, ARN), Box 174, 101 23 Stockholm, arn.se. Otherwise disputes are settled by a Swedish general court.
