What you get with Rust

When you order, you choose the server name, the server description, the max players, the map size, the map seed and the mod framework. The rest you can change once it's running.

  • Choose vanilla, Oxide (uMod) or Carbon when you order
  • Pick the map size (1000–6000), seed, max players, name and description
  • The game and the framework update at every restart
  • Plugins: put a .cs file in the plugins folder and it loads by itself
  • Shows in the community server list under your server's name

Ask Munin

Munin reads your server's console, logs and files, explains what's going on and proposes the fix. Nothing changes until you press Apply.

How players join

Players find the server in the community list, or press F1 and type client.connect followed by the address from your server page.

What happens at the monthly forced wipe?

Facepunch's update comes out on the first Thursday of every month. Restart the server after it to update; the old map can't load on the new version, so the server makes a new one.

Can I wipe whenever I want?

Yes. A map wipe deletes the map and save files, and a blueprint wipe the blueprint files too. Munin can do it with you.

Can I switch from vanilla to Oxide or Carbon later?

Yes, Support switches the framework for you, and your map is kept.

Where are the servers?

In a data centre in Helsinki, Finland, with DDoS protection. That gives low ping to players across Sweden, Finland, Norway and Denmark.

How fast is my server ready?

Usually within a few minutes of paying. We email you the address, and the control panel shows when it's online.

Can I cancel any time?

Yes. Cancel under Billing and the server runs until the end of the period you've paid for. Within 14 days of ordering you can change your mind completely and only pay for the days you used.
